The Secret of Brazilian DNA
Genomic diversity, precision medicine, and the future of healthcare
ABOUT THE EVENT
Brazil holds one of the greatest genetic diversities in the world. In this Brazilian-American Bio Connections webinar, we discussed what that means for precision medicine, association studies, and health policy.
The conversation brought together Mateus H. Gouveia, PhD, Assistant Professor of Human Genetics at Morehouse School of Medicine, recognized for his work in population genomics and genetic epidemiology, and Lygia Pereira, PhD, Full Professor of Genetics at the University of São Paulo and CEO and founder of gen-t, an international reference in genomic diversity and its applications in health.
It was moderated by Antonio Henriques, Co-President of BALSA and CEO of Momentum Therapeutics, with institutional participation from Mariana Ferreira Thiele, diplomat and head of the Science, Technology and Innovation Sector at the Consulate of Brazil in San Francisco.
